Clephas’ Plate

Platters or dishes carved in stone, a result of a collaboration between Fairtrade Designers and the art stonemasons in Zimbabwe for HOUSE BY THE SEA AFRICA. The dishes can be used for a rustic serving of cheeses and fruits and even fits a juicy ribeye steak. Its hand carved in one stone, leaving the surface raw and the base is polised with wax.  The slightly soft African stone patinas beautifully when used. – An option is with a “live-edge” which gives it a masculine attraction.

There are three versions of platters in the HOUSE BY THE SEA collection. a “non-directional dish” in a beautiful triangle shape that forms beautiful patterns when you put several together; the simple oval dishes which are great for fruit and nuts on a table in the dining room and lastly the new Ground NUT platters.
